TrueType OpenType®

What is OpenType®?
OpenType® is a cross-platform font file format developed jointly by Adobe and Microsoft. The two main benefits of the OpenType format are its cross-platform compatibility (the same font file works on Macintosh and Windows computers), and its ability to support widely expanded character sets and layout features, which provide richer linguistic support and advanced typographic control. OpenType comes in two "Flavors" Postscript (.otf) and TrueType (.ttf). Learn more about OpenType.

CFF Postscript (.otf)
OpenType fonts that are based on PostScript outlines have the suffix .otf and are cross-platform compatible with Macintosh and Windows. The same font file will work on both Macintosh and Windows provided the proper utilities are installed on your system.

TrueType (.ttf)
OpenType fonts that contain TrueType outlines such as Terminal Design's ClearviewHwy fonts have the suffix .ttf. This font format is supported natively by Macintosh and Windows operating systems. Macintosh operating systems prior to OSX may have some problems with these fonts. If you require TrueType Opentype fonts for use on these earlier Macintosh OS's please Contact Us directly.

What Sign-Making applications are compatible with ClearviewHwy® fonts.
There are many boutique sign-making applications on the market. Too many to have tested their compatibility with ClearviewHwy font software. Please check your application to make sure it supports TrueType fonts. If it does, there should be no compatibility issues. We have tested and can verify that ClearviewHwy fonts are compatible with all versions of SignCad®, and GuideSign® version 4.3 or later.

What are the licensing terms for ClearviewHwy® fonts?
